Please Support Our Fundraisers
The S.P.A. relies entirely on funds given by people like you — through generous donations and bequests, support of our various fundraising activities, and annual membership dues. We do not receive any government aid. Every single dollar/peso you contribute counts! You can help us by making a one-time donation, signing up for monthly donations of varying amounts, or by making a donation for a specific item, such as T-shirts, caps, making an In Honor Of gift, sponsoring a casita, or becoming a member. Details are set out below with links to PayPal. Please note that the only way to donate using a credit card is through a PayPal account.
You can also make a U.S. deductible donation to the S.P.A. via PayPal through the San Miguel Community Foundation's website here.
Another way to help the S.P.A. is by virtually adopting an S.P.A. dog or cat. When you virtually adopt a dog here or a cat here, you are helping us to provide food, care, and shelter for one of these wonderful, long-term S.P.A. residents.
Thank you for your help and support!
Monthly Giving Subscription Program
Are you able to help us on a monthly basis? We have all levels of giving available: $10 a month (Solid) – $15 a month (Bronze) – $25 a month (Silver) – $50 a month (Gold) – $100 a month (Platinum) – $250 a month (Diamond) and $500 a month (Angel). Monthly Subscription Giving allows us to plan ahead – to know we will have funds available on a long term basis. Feeding and taking care of our resident animals is very expensive! These donations help us with those expenses and other operating costs and also make it possible for us to accept more needy animals.

Sponsor a Doggy/Kitty Casita
Sponsor a dog or cat by adopting a Doggy or Kitty Casita for just $1 a day ($30 per month). Your annual donation will help care for a dog or cat by contributing to the cost of shelter, food, care, and medicine. Your contribution will be honored with a personalized bone-shaped sign on the door to your dog’s “casita” if you sponsor a Doggy Casita or a fish-shaped sign on the cattery when you sponsor a Kitty Casita.
Dedicate a Leaf on Our
The leaves memorialize the joy and unconditional love received from a beloved, departed pet. Each leaf on our 8-ft high copper-colored Remembrance Tree is permanent and personally-inscribed.
As of November 2021, all leaves have been taken on the Remembrance Tree. The inscriptions reveal the deep influence pets have had on their owners' lives.
If you would like to honor a pet, please consider making an "In Honor Of" donation below.
Give a Donation "In Honor Of"

Please pay via PayPal (below) or print the PDF file below, fill it out, and mail it to us or bring it to us in person, with your payment or PayPal receipt. Wear them proudly or give them as a girt! T-shirts are available for a donation of 200 pesos each; caps for a donation of 150 pesos each. They are available at the S.PA office during our regular office hours. What a great souvenir gift from San Miguel de Allende's oldest no-kill shelter for cats and dogs.
Naughty Little Puppy
Naughty Little Puppy (El Cachorrito Travieso) by Leonora M. Cohen is a bilingual, charming story about what it means to have a puppy as a pet. Suitable for 5-10 year olds, the story is beautifully illustrated and can be sung to the old folk tune, “Down by the Station Early in the Morning.” In a subtle and delightful way, it teaches children how to be responsible pet owners.

The author has generously agreed to donate all royalties from sales to the S.P.A.
